The Légère European Scrape Oboe Signature is made with a short scrape, the style favorued by oboists across Europe and much of the world outside North America. It delivers the darker, fuller sound European-scrape players know, combined with the consistency and convenience only a synthetic reed can provide. Built on our most refined blade profile and a decade of player feedback, the Signature offers stable pitch across all registers. The profile was developed using our in-house custom scanner that analyzes reed geometry down to 0.25 microns (roughly 1/300th the width of an average human hair) letting us study what makes the finest reeds great and reproduce those qualities on new CNC machinery. Attacks speak cleanly, response is even from pianissimo to fortissimo, and the reed gives the player room to shape phrases rather than fight resistance.
